Educator.
4th Generation Farmer.
Banker.
That’s Shelly.
At Security State Bank, trust isn’t just a word—it’s a way of life. It’s built through relationships, strengthened by experience, and proven through action. For Shelly Turner, our Vice President and Trust Officer, that trust is personal.
Fostering growth.
Raised on a fourth-generation family farm, Shelly understands what it means to work hard, plan for the future, and look out for others. Her family's Turner Farms, established in the 1800s, spans six counties, growing wheat, corn, and milo while also managing a cattle operation. Her deep connection to agriculture and her background as a teacher and school principal for 21 years give her a unique perspective on what it means to care for people—whether in the classroom, on the farm, or at the bank.
A Farmer’s Work Ethic, A Banker’s Expertise
Shelly carries her "dirt head" work ethic into her role at Security State Bank. She knows that trust isn’t built on policies and paperwork—it’s built on relationships, responsiveness, and doing the right thing when it matters most.
When a customer lost a money order and reached out in a panic at 3 a.m., Shelly happened to be awake. Instead of letting them worry until morning, she responded immediately, reassuring them that everything was under control. That’s the kind of personal commitment Security State Bank team members carry out each and every day.
Shelly and the team at Security State Bank don’t just serve customers; they serve the entire community. Whether it’s helping put in a new turf football field, teaching financial literacy, or cheering in the stands at a high school basketball game, the bank is woven into the fabric of everyday life.
At Security State Bank, we understand hard work, resilience, and looking out for one another. Our employees don’t just work here; they live here, invest in their communities, and support local families and businesses.
